Q: Is there any government funding to help pay for my hearing aid?

A: In many cases some funding is available. Please contact our office so we can point you in the right direction.

Q: If I need hearing aids how long will it take to get them?

A: Depending on the type of hearing aid you need it could be as quick as one hour (open BTE's) or up to two weeks for custom made hearing aids.

Q: Do I get to test the hearing aids before making a final decision?

A: Yes, we offer a no obligation trial period up to 60 days.

Q: What is an audiologist?

A: A university-trained professional with a master's (MS or MA), doctorate (PhD or EdD) or Doctor of Audiology (AuD) degree in audiology and specializing in identifying, diagnosing, treating and monitoring disorders of the auditory and vestibular system portions of the ear.

Q: Can I get away with wearing one hearing aid?

A: It is highly recommended to wear two hearing aids when there is hearing loss in both ears. Do you wear one lens in your eyeglasses? Wearing two hearing aids improves your ability to localize sounds, understand speech in noise, and allows for a fuller more comfortable sound picture.

A: The price of hearing aids depend on what type of hearing aid you need. This is determined by your hearing loss and requires a full hearing test and consultation as to what will work for you.

A: The average life of a hearing aid can vary but on average 5-7 years.

Q: Should I put my batteries in the fridge?

A: No, they should be kept at room temperature preferably in a dark place such as a dresser drawer. Batteries in the fridge will often corrode and rust.

Q: How long do batteries last?

A: Battery life will depend on the hearing aid itself, the degree of hearing loss and the environment you are in. On average:

  • 10- 3 to 5 days
  • 312- 5 to 10 days
  • 13- 8 to 14 days
  • 675- 10 to 16 days

Q: Should I sleep with my hearing aids in?
